Our first date was close to eight hours long! I heard about Hannah before meeting her through a friend of mine. We finally went on our first date on July 19th, 2024. We went to Fat Putter in Omaha. After I won at mini golf, we agreed the loser would buy dinner. I felt a little bad for not going easy on her, so I offered to pay, but she insisted that a bet is a bet and wanted to pay since she lost. I loved her quick response because it showed she was a good sport and wasn’t just there for a free meal. It made me see she was genuine and really cared about our date, which I appreciated. I soon realized I really liked her. We had a great dinner at one of my favorite ramen places in Omaha. That night was full of happiness, nerves, love, and a bit of anxiety.

The woman I met that night was unlike anyone I’d ever known. She was beautiful, smart, witty, funny, and just fun to be around. We talked so much that my throat was sore by the end of the night and even the next day. It’s hard to put my feelings into words, but that night I knew I wanted to keep seeing her and could imagine a future together. Over the next year, we dated and I got to know Hannah even better. We have a lot in common, but we also have our own interests, which I really appreciate. So here’s the big question!

Why do I want to marry Hannah Marie? I want to stand before God, Hannah, and everyone we care about to declare my unconditional love for her. I want to cherish her, laugh with her, cry with her, and share God’s blessings with her for the rest of our lives. I am sure of this. I can’t wait for the life we’ll build together.

Even if we face challenges, nothing will stop Hannah and me from getting through them together with God’s help. I will love Hannah and those around me as Christ loved his church.
